See, Do, Eat, Play and Sleep in South Beach, Miami
I am back again in Miami! You may remember last month’s trip to Key Biscayne here. This time around, I’m flying down for a bachelorette party aka girl’s weekend. I also decided to stay in town a bit longer to explore South Beach more like a local.

Where to Stay
Washington Park Hotel – For the first part of my trip, the girls and I stayed at the new WPH. I loved the bright sun-kissed rooms and comfy beds. Everyday from 5-7 there’s happy hour with drinks and nibbles complements of the hotel in the lobby. Breakfast was included too! Plus, I really appreciate the fruit-infused water at the pool and in the lobby. The staff was so friendly and to chat it up with you. Even though the hotel in on Washington Ave, the have arrangements at 9th Street Beach section for chair service that is included in our stay.
Airbnb – After the bachelorette weekend came to a close, I checked myself into an apartment within the South of Fifth neighborhood. Basically, south of 5th Street and Ocean Drive is residential, quiet and gorgeous. I found myself in a complex on Ocean with a pool that walks out to the beach. Hello, beach life! From here, I just lived and hung out with my apartment mates.

Where to Eat
The list here is very long! I wish I took more pictures of the food, but it was all on Snapchat (tineeyx). I did manage to take my time to take a photo with the healthy options below.
Naked Taco – Our first meal of the trip! I really appreciate the fact that they start dinner off with a free shot. Let’s start the party, right?! I ordered the Key West Shrimp and Gordo Pastor tacos. I must say the coconut shrimp won me over. It’s simply light and delicious.
OLA – We basically ordered every small plate/appetizer/ceviche option on the menu. A finer dining option with the service to match. My favorite was definitely the lobster ceviche, chicharrones, and wahoo ceviche because of the watermelon.
A La Folie – A great French cafe on Espanola Way to grab a crepe! After a day of paddle-boarding around the Biscayne Bay, it was a sweet treat.
Cleo – This was my favorite dinner spot. The vibe is so much fun! The food (tapas style) was phenomenal. We loved it so much that we ordered a second round of everything. My favorites include the kale flatbread, brussel sprouts, grilled octopus, and Lebenah dips with bread. The best part? They break plates Greek style (Opa!) to celebrate.
Havana 1957 – Gotta have some Cuban when you’re in Miami. Order a Mojito (comes with a sugar cane) or two and the chicken special. It’d be the most filling and flavorful homey goodness meal you’ll have here. Luckily for me, this was the last meal with the girls before they flew back out.
Under the Mango Tree – Now on to the healthy stuff. I loved coming here for dragon fruit smoothies in the morning. I also came here for the acai bowls during my post-bachelorette party detox. The place is so cute and yummy!
DIRT – Stumbled upon this place as I walked to my Airbnb apartment. I really need this place back in NYC. I grabbed a dragon fruit smoothie bowl and sparkling watermelon rose water one afternoon. Everything on the menu looks so delicious — from the nut milks, juices and healthy meals.
La Sandwicherie – Came here twice because it was so good. I ordered the SoBe both times. It’s avocado, turkey, brie with toppings in a French baguette (or croissant). Delicious. It’s the perfect thing to bring to the beach and munch on.

Where to Workout
Yep! Post weekend festivities, and during my alone time on the beach, I took advantage of my ClassPass (get $20 off) membership and eased myself back into my workout schedule. Some of my favorites gyms were down here as well. There’s nothing better than working out with the locals against a beautiful backdrop.
Exhale – I decided to skip the barre and take a power flow yoga class instead. Like I said, easing in. The one thing I love about Exhale is the spa ambiance you can expect no matter the location.
Flywheel – Also skipped the barre here too for one of my favorites, spin. As expected (Miami, duh) the music was amazing. Facilities were super clean. Unlike New York, we had to bring our own water, but it was no big deal since I literally carried a huge bottle with me everyday to stay hydrated.
Barry’s Bootcamp – Right next door to Flywheel. Although, I didn’t take a class here, I wanted to mention it as well since I love the classes back home. Best way to keep your beach body on point.
South Beach Kayak – One of our group activities during the bachelorette weekend was kayaking/paddleboarding. Of course, I decided on the stand-up-paddleboard. Its on the same street as Barry’s and Flywheel, so it’s pretty convenient. The people there are super nice. There’s nothing more relaxing than floating around the islands and fancy house admiring.

Where to Relax
South Beach – This is kind of obvious, lol. The water is quite beautiful and warm. Three little (medium) sharks did quickly swam by me as I went further out (still shallow). I hope they were nurse sharks. The sun gets really hot, so don’t forget sunscreen.
South Pointe Park – A hidden gem at the end of Ocean Drive. It was a short yet scenic few blocks from the apartment. You’ll see locals practicing yoga, relaxing, and playing with their dogs here. I LOVE the vibe. I visited twice. First, to watch the peaceful sunset over the Miami skyline and then down the pier for an amazing view of the beach, looking north.
Island View Park – A very small park across from the kayak place. I would like to mention it here because I caught a fantastic sunset photo here after my spin class. You can see the skyline from the marina. It was pouring torrential rain and it all cleared up to a magical view.

Phew! I believe I covered most of this trip aside from nightclubs. I’m not much of club party girl, so I just go with the flow. For a more spa-oriented Miami vacation, check out my time at The Standard Spa here. If you like a quiet luxe Miami getaway, check out my time at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne here. Before these three trips, you’ve gotta dig into my archives, hehe.
Thanks Miami for showing a great time, once again!
xx
