After our quick stopover in Milan, we boarded the high-speed rail towards Venice.
What can I say about Venezia that hasn’t been already said?! As soon as we came out of the rail station, emotions ran wild at the sight of this floating city. Just like a reflex, I rolled my luggage down the steps and immediately started to snap pictures. It’s really a place of magic and romance — a real treat for your sights and senses. We decided immediately that we wanted come back with our boyfriends for a gondola ride.
Once we checked in and got our luggages stowed away, we went to explore the city. We did a lot of walking and shopping the boutiques. The weather was just perfect here. It was such a reprieve from the cloudy days in Milan. One of the best parts of our adventure was finding a small wine shop after turning many alleyways and canal corners. At first we dipped in to buy some water, but after speaking to the owner, we realized he brewed his own beer and wines. Obviously, we had to get a bottle filled from tap here. Since you can drink on the streets, we got two cups and sat down along the Grand Canal just sipping the prosecco we’ve just procured. The sun went down, and it was just glorious.
Venice has stolen my heart.
P.S. We definitely went back to the wine shop our second day there.
