There’s been a bit of silence from my end on this blog. In light of recent global tragedies, it just didn’t feel right to blog about travel and leisure. My heart goes out to the cities affected and only can hope for peace. But, you don’t give into fear and bullying. You move on and live as prosperously as you can.
With that said, here’s my collection of photos from our second stop in Croatia, the old city of Split (see Dubrovnik here).
When we were in Split, we had planned for a sailing trip to go island hopping. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t on our side that week. So, to avoid possible danger, we stayed inland and explore the walled city. The highlight of Split, is Diocletian’s Palace, which was surrounded by shops, food markets and restaurants both inside and out of the walls. If you watch Game of Thrones, you may notice a lot of the scenes have been filmed here as well. Another landmark you should visit is the Cathedral and Bell Tower of St. Domnius. The view from the top is pretty spectacular, spanning the whole town. Walking around Split transports you to another time with its well-preserved fixtures and buildings.
