Oktoberfest & Nighttime Fun at Pumpkin City Laguna Hills

Going to the pumpkin patch at sunset just hits different. Pumpkin City Laguna Hills is a popular Southern California destination during the fall. It’s one of the few that stays open into the night with a variety of carnival style entertainment and activities.

The vibes are totally different from my relaxing day adventure at the Hana Field Pumpkin Patch.

Pumpkin City’s Pumpkin Farm

Here since 1978, it has become one of Orange County’s largest harvest festivals. There are actually two locations of Pumpkin City: Laguna Hills and Anaheim. The best thing about Pumpkin City, is the youthful and fun atmosphere it creates. I really love the setup of this event and the adorable fall vibes it gives.

Oktoberfest Beer Garden at Pumpkin City Laguna Hills

Oktoberfest at Pumpkin City Laguna Hills

I wanted to start off with the Oktoberfest beer garden at Pumpkin City. It’s a great adults-only section of the festival to grab one a beer from their selection and order Bavarian style foods. At the entrance, we got a wristband after an ID check. We got bratwurst, pretzel and beers by local company, GameCraft Brewing Co. The beers and food were around $12.00. You can bring the food outside of the beer garden, but all alcohol needs to stay inside.

Entertainment & Activities at Pumpkin City

If you plan to come here beyond just picking a pumpkin, which they have wagons available for, there’s a long list of fun activities for night to do from dining, photo ops, rides and games.

Rides & Game Booths at Pumpkin City

If you are bringing kids or have friends who will bring them like we did, there are so many options in terms of rides. There were the Train Express, Boat rides, bounce houses, Swing ride (my favorite as a child) and Tractor Town USA. Older kids and adults will enjoy the many game booths that have classic carnival-style games. Examples of these games, include Inflatable Axe Throwing, Ball Tosses, Lucky Ducky and Ping-Pong Toss into floating bowls. You do need to purchase activity tickets to partake in all the entertainment and activities.

Attractions at Pumpkin City

Available attractions include, the petting zoo, general store, crack open geode, a theater and “panning for gold.” We went to the petting zoo to feed some of the hungry cuties and it was super fun. The petting zoo does require activity tickets. This was the first time I saw piggies in the barnyard portion of a pumpkin patch. Normally there are a good mix of sheep, goats, chicken and bunnies.

Photo Opportunities at Pumpkin City

Pumpkin City Laguna Hills such a wonderland of pumpkin patches and fall vibes, that I feel the whole place is totally instagrammable. I love the twinkling string lights, the blowing bubbles and many photo-worthy areas they have set up. Arriving in time for sunset and night time was a great idea. It felt very festive with sounds of rides, games and people just enjoying themselves. Highly recommended as a cute date night idea in Orange County or SoCal.

Dogs on leash are welcome, fyi!
