NYFW Day 1: Supima Design Competition 2012, Linea Pelle #StyleTweetup + Style Network Fashion’s Night Out
Even though I had a rocky start on the first day of New York Fashion Week (missed two shows), it ended on such a positive note. I was impressed and blown away by the work of the eightย designers,ย representing the top design schools in America, at the Supima Design Competition. The winner will receive a $10,000 prize. Here are some highlights from the show.
First, I would like to show you my view from front row. I was luckily bumped up before the show started. Across from me is Tadashi Shoji, the President of Supima – Jesse Curlee, Buxton Midyette, and Rachel Zoe + Rodger Berman!
And the winner is Kate Wilkoff from Pratt Institute. Her designs are below:
I also went to the Linea Pelle showroom for a tweet-up hosted by my blogger friend Kimmie of Kitten Lounge to kick off Shoe Week. Isn’t the mesh detailing on the bags just so amazing?
They also have branched into accessories. These studded bracelets are a must-have, especially in the purple. I received some leather goodies from them and can’t wait to start rocking them out!
To end the day and celebrate Fashion’s Night Out, I went to the Style Network‘s event at NBC Universal. There, I got a nice Essie manicure, nibble on turkey burgers and sipped blueberry spritzers. Oh, did I mention Jeannie Mai was there?! Love her.
P.S. I wasn’t able to take an outfit shot, boo! But, keep up with my fashion week wanderings on Twitter :)
