Norfolk to Portsmouth

Hello, hello! It’s not even been a week since I’ve been back home and I’m already planning more trips for the rest of summer. Before I digress, let’s talk about last weekend! So far, you know I’m a beach bum, major foodie, and a first-time jet skier. Today, I’d like to reminisce about the rest of the trip. First, we flew United and were up in the air for under an hour (win!). When we landed, we picked up our rental car, and drove straight to our hotel, the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside. I chose this mainly for the location and great pricing. I love being by the water and the hotel was central to the places and beaches we wanted to visit. Plus, it has nice amenities and it was QUIET. This has been my second Sheraton stay so far (first time in was in Rome), and I like their standard of room essentials. My only complaint is no free Wi-Fi. Gah!

Anyways, you can walk out to the harbor from the hotel and look across the Elizabeth River. The view is nice and the walk, relaxing. As per my friend E’s (lived in Downtown Norfolk) recommendation, I took the $1.50 ferry over to Portsmouth to take a look and grab lunch.

The ferry ride was fairly quick and you get a better view of both ports.
