Diner en Blanc NYC

Documenting our first ever all-white and invite-only dinner party!
We finally decided to do Diner en Blanc this year and thanks the Law of Attraction we got an invite for the secretive fête. The premise of the French all-white affair is sort of an elegant flash mob dinner. You meet at a designated location and follow the leader until the actual venue location is revealed. You also have to bring your own table/chairs, food (catering available), and table setting. Some people go all out for this night! Since it was our first one, we wanted to work out the kinks before leveling up our tablescape. It happened to be on the hottest day of the summer, and I’m not kidding about that. We had to lug all our things in the heat. Nonetheless, makeup fading aside, we had so much fun!
For the event, we decided to keep it simple and chic. We decided on white roses and silver accents. We organized a menu and printed it along with name cards. To keep it easy, we included foods we already love to eat. I did love creating the aperitif! When the nightfall came, we switched on our fairy lights (tucked into mason jars) and danced as the DJ spun the beats.
Location: Lincoln Center
Starter: Whole Foods
Dinner: Made Nice
Dessert: Le District
Wearing: JOA broderie anglaise dress, Baublebar earrings
Looking back, it seemed like such a whirlwind from setup to breakdown. I definitely enjoyed the performances during the dinner and dance party afterwards. I mean when else can you set up a 5000 person dinner pop-up like this? Simply the best way to close out the summer season.
