Whether I’m headed out to a brunch date (love those!), grabbing lattes at a cafe, having dinner with friends, or even feting at a cocktail event, I always like to make sure everything is on point with a little mental checklist.
Lately, I’ve been fond of intimate dates with close friends. Though, we talk to each other via iMessage daily, there’s nothing like a full catch-up session at a new restaurant or cafe. I think it’s become somewhat an unspoken friendship requirement — to have an open mind and palate. Well, before I head to these engagements, I like to look and feel my best.
Because my friends are as beauty-obsessed as I am (minus the blog) I always put my best face forward. This also means showing off a new lip color or scent, whichever seems to be the hot topic of discussion at the time. Right now, it’s lips!
Since we will be doing a lot of eating and drinking, I always make sure to carry the lip color with me for touchups. Other things in my little beauty bag includes hand cream, hair band, travel perfume (I like to give samples a try this way), a nail file (you never know, I broke a nail typing today!!), and –ahem- feminine hygiene products. Shown here are U by Kotex Curve pantyliners and Sleek tampon. If I’m staying out for a long time, having pantyliners are a great refresher. If it’s THAT time of the month, you better believe I have my arsenal. There’s nothing worse than accidents, and I love how the U by Kotex products are all candy colored and camouflaging. I COULD easily mistake a pantyliner square for the chocolate one (see below). It’s a nice confidence boost, and I don’t feel like i need to hide these things.
As with any day. A well planned outfit is necessary. Because these are my girls, I can literally wear anything to see them. I actually think they will silently judge me if I show up in a garbage bag. Well, at least I know they will call me out if I look like a hot mess. Normally, skirts with a little flair is my thing — mixed with a little edge.
Options. The items I mentioned above are great to carry, but I put together some more that I think will be a blessing in case of emergencies like clear nail polish. It saves lives broken nails and ripped tights (probably more). I also try to have bandaids and a compact with me. For some reason, I always forget them, especially the compact. So, I just attempt to use my phone for mirror checks.
See what I was talking about the U by Kotex Curves pantyliner squares looking like my chocolate square? In a glimpse, no one will notice! It’s also nice to pack some sugar for the road. You just never know when you’ll need it.
If you like to get your hands on some U by Kotex for yourself, head here to grab a sample!
When I’m properly dressed, well packed, and perfected my makeup look, I feel super confident to head out and take on the world, or just the day.
