Inside the beautiful new contemporary wing of the internationally renowned, Corning Museum of Glass.
Contemporary Art + Design Wing
When I visited Corning, the first thing I did was attend the opening event for the Corning Museum of Glass’s new contemporary wing. It was such a festive event with hundreds of people gathered, waiting for the first look of the beautiful new 100,000 sq. foot wing. Not only is this museum dedicated to showing off glass through history and science, it can now brilliantly house new artistic pieces for the world to admire. I could feel the extreme excitement from everyone involved. This project became such a uplifting space. It’s inspiring, filled with light and clean lines. Inside the new wing, a state-of-the-art hot shop has been created. I had the pleasure of watching a live demonstration twice! One during the day, and one with a DJ on set giving off great vibes.
Thanks to CMOG for inviting me to the launch event! I left completely fascinated by the history and science of glass-making. From the things early civilizations were able to create, to the new scientific developments for modern usage, the whole experience was so fun.
P.S. I made my own glass flower at the workshop!
Never been prouder ;)
