Bright Aqua Eyeliner

One of the biggest Spring 2013 makeup trends I’ve been spotting is bright aqua blue eyes and neon-colored waterlines. Needless to say, I’ve been pretty into it. I decided to wear it a little more subtlety by putting the aqua color on my waterline. Depending on how pigmented your choice of eyeliner is, it still can be a huge surge of color.

I decided to hit Sephora up to shop for the perfect shade and liner. For something like this, I wanted a premium product that would last, is very pigmented, and would stay waterproof. Sephora has a huge selection, and I was so surprised at the amount of aqua liners I swatched while shopping there! Ultimately, it was down to finding the perfect shade for my skin tone and ease of application. ย I went with a waterproof and creamy liner from the Urban Decay 24-7 collection. I’ve heard such amazing things about them, and so far, I’ve been loving the color payoff. Stila’s liner were a good close second.

For the rest of my face, I kept it pretty neutral, so I don’t take away from the eyes. I used products from my normal makeup routine. No blush, just an awesome bb cream and natural-colored gloss. Oh… and my brows!

WHAT I USED:
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Flipside
Amarte Natural Finish BB Cream in Light
MicaBeauty Gel Eyeliner in Black
NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu
e.l.f. Eyebrow Kit in Ash
HOW I DID IT:
โคย Applied my bb cream. Filled brows.
โคย On a primed eyelid, I drew my usual winged liner with a black gel.
โคย With the colored eyeliner, I filled my waterline — making the line thicker towards the outer corner and bringing it up to the black wing to complete the cat-eye look.
โคย Add some lip gloss. Done!
