Just because a blizzard cancelled your birthday trip doesn’t mean fun can’t still be had!ย Not to worry, though, my trip to St. Martin is rebooked for this coming weekend.
Instead, on my birthday, we made some last minute plans to enjoy some of the snow fun in Central Park and have (modern Hawaiian) dinner at Noreetuh. Andy took on the task of building a snow man, and he added his personal touches to it (tie and pocket square). The park was so alive with kids and adults alike, sliding/snowboarding down the hills. It’s these moments why I just love my city.
Wearing: Style Nanda coat, Urbancode scarf {similar}, Zara top + jeans, Hunter boots, Furla bag, Uniqloย earmuffs, Jack Wills mittens
Dinner was amazing, and I can’t wait to go back! Walking around the city, I was so glad to have my boots on. The slush came over our ankles and the snow still knee-deep at times. Both of us strolled fearlessly into the mess. This winter, I’ve just been so into faux fur, more so than ever. For the occasion, I just mixed and matched accessories to my coat. Cold weather makes me want to bring out the fuzzy.
The day before, on the actual blizzard day, we ventured out (ski goggles on) to seek groceries. We normally empty our fridge before leaving for a trip, so luckily our local market was still open! The city put a travel ban into effect, so all hope of leaving for our trip diminished. Can’t be too upset over things you can’t change, at least not for long. I’d admit that I was stressed trying to rebook everything. Here’s to going with the flow!
P.S. Going to be updating with more posts from our Canada trip, soon.
Birthday 2015, here.
