AIDS Walk New York 2012

This past Sunday, I joined the Duane Reade team at the AIDS Walk New York VIP Breakfast and Opening Ceremony. The breakfast was at Loeb Boathouse, inside Central Park. While I was there, I felt so lucky to be one of Duane Reade’s blogger ambassadors. I got to sit with members from corporate at the breakfast, and it really made me feel like I’m part of the team. Of course, there is the glitzy part! This was a star studded breakfast, might I add. Karlie Kloss was at the table next ours and I saw Wendy Williams walk on by. I think its great to see celebrities give back.

Duane Reade is the presenting sponsor of this year’s 27th annual AIDS Walk. That is pretty huge! Not only did team Duane Reade exceed their fundraising goals, but has set a new standard for next year. At the walk, Duane Reade set up their own tent and welcomed anyone to come swing by to get their blood pressure taken. There was a lot of unity among attendees and walkers. I’ve never felt closer to Duane Reade as a company!

All the Duane Reade and Walgreeens walkers rocked this awesome tee. (I did too!) Let me tell you, there was a lot of walkers on our team. We roll so deep!

Now for the most epic part of the day. The $400,000 check from Duane Reade to GMHC. Pretty momentous.

Do you see Michael Urie in the background? I miss Ugly Betty!!

Thank you to Duane Reade for having me at the AIDS Walk. I am so honored to be a part of a great company that has such a charitable heart.
