Last weekend, it was a wild 50 degrees Fahrenheit. I was pretty sure Spring was arriving. All the snow (turned glaciers) you see in these photos melted away. Today, it dropped back down to freezing, and we’ll be getting more snow. Oh, New York, you always manage to keep me on my toes!

Lately, I’ve been 90% smitten with our winter wonderland and only 10% over it. I still really want to go on a weekend ski getaway, but I think that has to wait until next year with proper planning. In the meantime, I’ve been experimenting with my photography. I think taking myself out of my comfort zone really helps puts things into perspective. The other day, I was shooting with a wide-angle lens (versus the 35mm prime I’m used to) and I started to see the world a little differently. With fashion blogging, it’s always been about the outfit and the pieces. A portrait lens was perfect to tightly capture the look. I’m a big fan of incorporating the landscape and environment into my photos now. I think it tells a better story ;)
P. S. I tried to camouflage myself into the scenery with this outfit.
