Beachtime Essentials

One of my absolute favorite things to do is to head out for a day at the beach. Although, New York City beaches are not the cleanest or prettiest, there are some hidden gems along the coast. Recently, I visited Jacob Riis Park, deep in The Rockaways. Not too many people know about this location since it’s so far in, which makes it so pleasant to go to. Normally, I would head over to Brighton Beach, further down from the ever so popular Coney Island beach. I love a good quiet day on the sand with a good book and some great company. Of course, every great day at the beach requires packing some great essentials. Here are a few items I’ve been using and/or loving….

1. Ralph Lauren Lace Optic Triangle Bikini
I’m still crushing hard on summer whites. There’s nothing better than a crisp white bikini with feminine lace details to contrast against your skin. It makes even the palest version of me look a little tan.
2. Boscia Clear Complexion Blotting Linens
I first discovered this through Birchbox, and I am still very much a huge fan! I love anything green tea, but this blotting paper absorbs oil off your face while treating your breakouts with its natural salicylic acids from plant ingredients. Perfection.
3. Nivea A Kiss of Protection SPF 30
The first thing to get burned is my lips, then my nose. I’ve learned the hard way to protect those puckers whenever I’m on the beach. The skin on your lips are extra sensitive!
4. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunblock
I think the spray version of sunscreen has to be the best beauty invention ever! I bring this out with me for easy coverage and quick reapplications.
5. Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner
I love laying on the beach, but I also love my eyeliner. For days on the sands and in the water, I whip out my Stila eyeliner to make sure my makeup remains un-smudged. It glides on smooth and holds for hours.
6. Starbucks Iced Coffee
The iced version of my favorite drink. Stick these flavors in the cooler along with some water to stay cool throughout the day.
7. Ray-Ban Aviator Sunglasses
A summertime must! Wear those shades to prevent squinting in the bright sun rays and to prevent wrinkles.
8. Target Striped Beach Towel
I picked up this extremely soft towel the last time I went to the beach. Having a fun towel is always a great way to accessorize your spot.
