Design Spotting with Dyson: Part II

Super fabulous home accent item found at Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Inspirational living room set up at IKEA's showroom.

Welcome to the second post of inspirational designs and decor I've spotted using Instagram with Dyson. After last week's trend chat, I've been itching to redecorate the place. So, there are designs spotted as I was shopping. I'm happy to say that I've found some new bedding for the room, and still am looking for the perfect curtains. Sometimes the smallest change really perks up the place. Some great ideas that were brought up were velvet curtains, cuddly throws, oxblood colored pieces, candles to warm up the home, and a ton of fashion wardrobe trends. Everyone was loving a good leather jacket, boots, layers and scarves for this Fall season.

Personally, I'm looking for cozy prints and textures to update the home. Candles are a must for me. I want to switch from light floral scents to rich warm ones. I am also looking into adding brocade onto my walls. It's such a huge print in fashion for the Fall that I'm sure it'd add some much needed drama to any room. I'm looking into decals, wallpapers or frames and mirrors. For fashion, I'm all about finding the perfect pair of booties, girly dresses and skirts, and a lot of leather. I'm really digging leather panels on jackets, dresses, skirts and skinny jeans. Of course, I'm looking for a lot of burgundy and berry colored items. It's my must-must-have for the Fall.

Doing this series also have made me more aware of my surroundings. If I look, I can pick up on a lot of different art that I normally would have been too busy or absorbed in everyday worries to notice. I've spotted some cool items and events on-the-go. The best one was a random fireworks show while I was on the ferry from Wall St. to IKEA Brooklyn. Now I can say I watched fireworks on a boat!

So here's to stopping to smell the roses :)

Design in the sky! Fireworks on the East River. View from the ferry!

Decor at Flex Mussels. All artwork based on our favorite shell.
