Gasoline Glamour - Shoe Week Spring 2013

by Lindsay Lee

Last weekend, Gasoline Glamour  presented their latest collection at NYC Shoe Week.  Just when you think New York Fashion Week can't get any better, you realize that there's a show just for shoes! While the outrageous heels were the the piece de resistance, the vivid dresses by Eva Varro and the pet accessories by Couture by Sophie didn't fall far behind. That's right; a show with one-of-a-kind shoes, bold dresses, and cute puppies!

The overall look was bright, fun, and one of excess. Each shoe had a platform heel, of what I'm guessing was 6" tall.  The shoes varied with decorations from fur, spikes, studs, sequins, and feathers.  Every pair was over-the-top and like nothing you'd find anywhere else. Perfect for celebrities or those who just like to make a statement, Gasoline Glamour is not a shoe for everyone.

The pet accessories also had a rockstar vibe, literally. The designer, Jody Miller, actually used to represent musicians like John Mellencamp, Iggy Pop, and The Cure.  All of her designs were inspired by her work in the music industry.  So if your pet has a little bit of a diva attitude, they might just need a Couture by Sophie carrier!

Co-founded by Kimmie Smith, a fellow blogger and shoe lover, the Shoe Week just launched this season, but offers a promising future. After all, fashion just isn't the same without fabulous shoes!
