East Japanese Restaurant (210 E 44th St)

Grilled Salmon w/ Scallions and Scallops Wrapped in Bacon

I must warn you. There are a few “East Japanese Restaurants” around the city. Each location, I believe, has a different specialty in my opinion. I went to this particular one after a long day of selling clothing. As a celebratory dinner, we went for some awesome yakitori. I am not sure how I ended up in Midtown from TriBeCa, but the food is why we’re here!

I really enjoyed all the grilled dishes at East. While I am used to Oh! Taisho/Yakitori Taisho’s yakitori dishes and flavors, this spot really was comparable! The setting is a little less “street” but the taste was pretty authentic as far as the small plates go. I cannot vouch for the sushi there, but the ramen was just okay. Come here for their yakitori or grilled plates. The chicken skin and grilled squid was absolutely my favorite!
