Neutral & Subtle Smokey Eye + Giveaway!

I’m so excited about this makeup post I’ve been working on last week!

It’s full of good stuff — a photo & video tutorial plus major product giveaway ;)

Today’s look is something I like to put on for everyday occasions. That means coffee dates, shopping or even brunch! It’s taupe and brown based with an unoffending lip color. The tones are neutral and natural to bring out the best of your natural colors. I like to call this natural freshness.

This makeup look will feature two Rimmel London products: Stay Matte foundation and Scandaleyes Retro Glam mascara.

Without further ado…

rimmel neutral smokey eye

First I start with the Stay Matte foundation in 091 True Ivory, and apply with a brush all over. It’s really lightweight and concealing so I won’t be following with a concealer. The next step will be applying primer on my eyelids and under my waterline.

For the brows, I just filled it in according to my natural shape. I want to just accentuate my features.

Then, I take a brown creamy pencil and draw in a large wing. That will be the base for the shadows. Simply, smudge it out with a brush.

Now, I will be layering on the eyeshadows. First, I apply a taupe color all over my lid, up to my brow bone. Blend. On the outer corner, I add in some brown in a v-shape and bring it inwards a little. Take more taupe to blend the brown in. With a fluffy brush, buff out any harsh edges.

With the brown liner, apply along the water line. I will then smudge it out with a brush with some brown shadow on it. That will enhance the smokiness of the eyes.

Now, my favorite part. With a liquid liner, I draw in my winged liner. Then with a black waterproof pencil, I tightline my lash line and lightly line the waterline. This will help shape and bring out my eyes.

To really make it pop out more. Curl the lashes and apply the Scandaleyes Retro Glam mascara in 003 Extreme Black on both top and bottom lashes. It has an hourglass shape to give the wide eye look. I can actually see my lashes after a few coats with this!

I like to add bronzer to contour and bring my dimension to my face. I do this under my cheekbones and into my jawline. Afterwards, I take a pink blush and apply it on the apples of my cheeks — blending it into my bronzer.

Finally, I used a coral pink lip gloss to complete the look.

Here’s where you can get your hands on some Rimmel makeup. It’s available at Walmart if you want to purchase it like me. There’s a $1 coupon in the Sunday newspaper for Rimmel’s 180th anniversary this April.

CitizenM Times Square

CitizenM New York-17

So, I was invited to an epic influencer slumber party for the launch of new luxury boutique hotel, CitizenM

(with plenty of locations in Europe)

There were plenty of drinks, food, entertainment and good times all around.

Let’s say hello to the coolest hotel I’ve stayed in…

& the funnest staycation, ever.

Everywhere you turn, there’s something wise on the walls.

Clean and modern design with all the basic essentials.

How cute is this chair, though?

CitizenM New York-8

It’s also so high-tech. This Samsung tablet controlled the room’s electronics. That’s the ambient lights, the color of lights, the television, curtains, blinds, temperature etc. Oh, and it also knows my name, hehe!

CitizenM New York-10

This shower was EXCELLENT. I just love a good waterfall shower. There’s also an AM and PM version of an all-in-one shampoo/wash.

Necessary. Both soap and the drink ;)

This marshmallow of a bed is being missed so much. I’m sure this is how sleeping on clouds feels like. Fluffy x Infinity.

 Damn right.

Where the party was at!

There’s a bar, canteen, plenty of lounging and work tables. Oh, and free wifi. Yep!

Sparkle Party

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of La Marca Prosecco. It is intended for an audience over 21 years of age.

I love a good glass of bubbly. Last Friday, my bestie and I decided to start our weekend early and make mango bellinis.

Just because!

We met a the cutest space in Midtown and had ourselves a sparkle party with my new bottle of La Marca prosecco. This new-to-me brand has such adorable, yet luxe packaging, that I was pleasantly surprised that a bottle is approximately $17. It also has a crisp and amazing taste, too! My friend knows her whites, and instantly expressed to me how great it was. Yay!

While, this was a nice break for her to take from studying, it was the perfect pre-party shindig for me. I was heading to a weekender in Times Square later that day, for a new hotel opening soon. (More on that launch party in an upcoming post!)

As someone who loves all things girly and pretty, I love any excuse to dress up and *clink* flutes. A get-together like this is how every Friday should be done (wishful thinking).

A glass of prosecco is best served with friends ;)

…or mixed with your favorite fruit flavor.

Don’t you love cozy hideouts? Especially when the decor matches the La Marca bottle. Serendipity.

For our cocktail, we used mango puree. The amount varied per person. My friend likes it with a splash of mango flavor, while I preferred it with a little more mixed in.

Just pour the prosecco to the amount of your liking and add in the mango! How’s that for the easiest recipe, ever?!

I like keeping things simple.

There’s just something so about putting a little elegance and sparkle into your day. Cheers to more!
