Spring Refresh

There is something about Spring that prompts bringing a little change into my usual routines. When the flowers start to bloom, I get an itch to spruce up the home, update my wardrobe, change the diet up, and switch up my makeup routine. A fresh start really livens things up and stir the creative juices -- bringing me out of my Winter hibernation. In collaboration with Starbucks, I will be showcasing a few of my Springtime updates, including their new line of bottled coffees.

One of my favorite new purchases is this set of pink-handled makeup brushes by Crown Brushes. I got them at a nice discount during a HauteLook sale. My current set had lasted a good few years, but it was really time to get an upgrade. I've never been more excited to do my makeup again. This is the girl's version of getting a new toy!

Coffee. I need my coffee. Not only do I love it for the caffeine, but for the rich flavor. It's a good size, and as seen in the above photo, the new Starbucks Iced Coffee bottles are great for being on-the-go. Sometimes, as much as I want to make my own brews, there just isn't enough time. I like keeping these in the fridge and grabbing one as I run out the house. I love that they come in yummy flavors like caramel (fave) and vanilla, as well as good old coffee + milk. Iced coffee is my forever drink of choice, especially when the weather gets warmer. A nice pick-me-up....

Beauty items are the easiest way to spice up your old routine. Thanks to the Glam editorial team for curating a few new products to try. There's nothing more exciting than cracking open a brand new beauty item. As much as I crave Vitamin D, wearing sun protection is a priority. Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Body Mist aerosol sunscreen spray is all sorts of perfect. I normally prefer the continuous spray option because its a much faster and less greasy option. Of course, you have to protect your lips equally from the sun's rays. Nivea's moisturizing lip balm contains a SPF of 30, which is great to apply daily even if I don't go tanning.

This year I'm all about a great glow. Until it gets warm enough for me to hit the beach, a great bronzer is my secret weapon. Sonia Kashuk's pressed bronzer palette has a nice combo of shimmer and bronze. I like have duo colors to create a nice illuminating sunkissed look.

As if it hasn't been clear in my previous posts, I love wearing aqua and turquoise. In the first picture of this post, I am wearing the L'Oreal "Not a Cloud in Sight" polish. This was the first item I tried since I love trying new nail shades. I always associate Spring with this color. This is my first time trying this brand of polishes, and the color payoff is pretty good -- all I need was a single good coat or two thin coats.

Also, I had no idea Sephora made ribbon hair ties! I love wearing these since they don't leave a dent in your hair after a day in a pony tail. I like the color assortment for Spring. It's the perfect time to play with fun colors.

My favorite way to give new life to the home, is to get new candles. Candles bring a fresh new scent and the decorative ones change the look of the room temporarily. My mom gave me this candle by Primal Elements and I am in love with the smell of it. I was sold at the Eiffel Tower design.

Shoes! Nothing feels as good as new shoes for your wardrobe. This Spring I've been obsessed with white shoes and clothing. When I saw this pair of mesh heels from Boohoo, I was swooning. I'm so glad I can add this into my closet.

What are some ways you refresh your style this Spring?

The new line-up of bottled Starbucks® Iced Coffee beverages gives you great-tasting, energizing refreshment with premium Starbucks® coffee from 100 percent arabica beans. Minty Fresh // Mint Dress + Colorful Knit Scarf

NIC+ZOE knit scarf
3.1 PHILLIP LIM Pashli satchel
H&M dress {old, last seen here}
MARGIELA X H&M lucite heel wedges
CARAVELLE by BULOVA watch

I love dresses (and skirts) with pockets! Even if I never put anything in them, pockets are such a fun little addition to any piece of clothing. I'm wearing one of my favorite anytime dresses. It's versatile enough to wear as a casual outfit by itself or it can be dressed up for a more pulled together look. Today's outfit is a little in-between. I'm accessorizing with this awesome and lightweight knit scarf I received as a gift from a fashion presentation I attended hosted by Harper's Bazaar and Nic+Zoe. I love how it gives an instant flush of color to my entire outfit.

I'm a big believer in wearing clothes that makes you happy. Perspective changes a lot of situations.

With that said, I hope every is having a great one!

Springtime Frolicking + a D&Y Giveaway!

DAVID & YOUNG neon band fedora
FOREVER 21 perforated moto jacket
RED by MARC ECKO studded bag {better view here}
LULUS.COM dress {last seen here}
PRABAL x TARGET sandals

Sometimes all I need to clear my head is a nice stroll through the park for some fresh air and sunshine. This Spring, I've been acquiring quite a lot of newfound interests and habits. For instance, I've cleaned up my meal and drink options. I still love my Diet Coke, but lately, I've been loving my green juices. Instead of no breakfast and just coffee, I've developed a healthy appetite for greek yogurt, especially with mango bites. Plus, dinnertime has become a fun activity, as I experiment with making different salads, versus the typical GrubHub delivery order.

Lately, I've also been inspired to make my own clothing and accessories, too. Seriously, I need to DIY my own circle skirt! There is long running list of items to create, starting from a flower crown, in which I bought all the supplies for last year but never put into action, to a clear perspex box clutch. I think it's time to finally get on it. This is why I appreciate roaming nature. It gives you the perfect environment to really refocus and jumpstart new projects.

My wardrobe needs a little refreshing soon. I've planned a trip to the outlets this Memorial Day weekend (sale!) with my bestie to help remedy that. Until then, I've been trolling sales on HauteLook, RueLaLa, and Gilt Groupe almost religiously. Today's outfit features a little remixing of old closet items and some new ones. I remember buying this white asymmetrical-hem dress on sale almost two years ago and still love it to this day. I'm not sure if this little spring jacket got any airtime on the blog, but I purchased this on a whim last year in Atlantic City. It's been a great lightweight alternative to my leather jackets. Though you can't see the bag here, it's the same one from my last post. It's seriously a great everyday tote -- repeats to come, most likely. I'm finally able to wear the sandals from the Prabal x Target collection. Plus, who else has noticed the metal band shoe trend going around, lately? To complete my look, I wore a straw fedora! What drew me to this one was definitely the pink band and (little) bow. Big e-hugs to David & Young for letting me pick out this gift for myself and a reader!

Yes, that means giveaway time. Scroll down to enter!
